New ideas moving forward
Week twelve of 2015

One thing is to write a book and then go off and do a free promotion, but it’s an entirely different game to actually sell it and get people to pay for it. So far (since March 16th) after the free promotion ended, I’ve sold 7 copies… I need to figure out how I can get the sales up and I think the key could be to focus on building a massive mailinglist. I base this on what I’ve read from Josh Earl over at joshuaearl.com.

WEEK 12

I had a chat on Skype with Kenn Schroder this week. What a great guy! You can read about our conversation on his blog http://getwebdesignclients.com/kenneth-gets-web-design-clients/

I got some great ideas from our talk. I think I got a new topic for a new book. It will continue building on pricing and setting your rate, but it will go more towards setting yourself apart from a freelancer to more of a professional. And the topic is going to be Get Paid For Roadmapping Sessions.

So with that in mind, I’m thinking about how I can expand my book offer to something more. The idea at the moment is to write 3-5 books to make a series around setting your rate and becoming a professional. Then add maybe videos to that, maybe as a more upscale package. And finally add personal coaching as final package. So it’ll be course basically. Anyways, that the general idea at the moment, but I’ll work more on this.

I’m working on a landing page for my book. I know that I should have done this before the launch, but better late than never. It’ll be out very shortly and you’ll find it at http://setyourfreelancerate.com when it’s ready.

In order to sell more books I’m planning on doing a giveaway to grow my mailing list. The catch is that you in order to get more than one entry you can share the giveaway on social media. It all runs on an plugin called KingSumo from Noah Kagan. This list will also be helpful if I end up doing a full course and need to promote it.

I have now gotten a total of 4 reviews on Amazon and I’ve collected 5 reviews from some of the selected few who receive a copy from me personally. These will be great to use on my landing page to build trust and credibility around the book.

With all of this in mind I’m going to have to update my goals a bit as well.

Do a review and update goals

Two things I need to do is update my goals, but also take a look back on the last three months and do a review of my progress so far. Other than that I also need to finish one project the coming week, deadline on friday so… Yikes!

Get my book if you would like to learn how to set your rate with confidence and get paid what your worth in no more than 45 minutes. I would also love to hear what you thought of it! Feel free to comment below and we’ll get discussion going.

Get The Book for no more than a Grande Latte!

All right, talk to you next week!

hi Ken, for launching your book you’d do well to check out Jeff Walker and his Product Launch Formula. I’m in the middle of a launch myself [but not a book] following the steps in his book Launch”.
Building a list is certain a major focus, but there’s also some cool steps to build anticipation and get engagement during the Prelaunch period. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion Phil, signed up and watched the first video. I probably been the victim of «hope marketing» in this case, but going forward I’ll be doing things differently. And thank you for taking the time to read through my journal.
